The Challenge
Lincoln High School chose to focus their yearbook design on the journey through life the students made in 2012 using the theme "Our Journey." The design needed to be simple using primarily school colors and vector art so the photography and copy could tell the story without distraction. The design package request included a cover, front endsheet, title page, division page, back endsheet, and folio design.
The Solution
I used the direction of the yearbook staff to create a visual pattern we called "the path" that extended from key letter descenders. Embedding the word "our" into "journey" allowed for an interesting and minimal treatment while a simple timeline reinforced the theme.
